Ahoy, SoCal Sailors in Grades 8-12: The application is now OPEN for the 2025 SCYYRA Advanced Winter Training Clinic! This annual clinic, held at the United States Sailing Center Long Beach on December 6-7, 2025, brings together the most advanced sailors in the Southern California region with elite coaches from around the world. The 2-day clinic includes the 29er, C420, CFJ, and ILCA 6/7 fleets; it is open to 2025 and 2026 SCYYRA Racing Team Members, in addition to experienced participants in SCYYRA Series and/or High School Programs. Acceptance is based on age, experience, and demonstrated skill level. Applications MUST be received by 11:59 PM on November 16th, 2025. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED.
*The list of accepted applicants will be published on the SCYYRA website at www.scyyra.org on or before November 19th, 2025 at 6:00 PM.
Congratulations to Maddie Nichols of (BYC) on her SCYYRA Frost Series victory! The final event was hosted by Santa Barbara Yacht Club and our trophy winners had five points separating 1st and 3rd in a very tight Series result.
Skipper Olympia Barelli (SDYC) and Crew Holland Vierling (SDYC) are our 2024-2025 SCYYRA Hamlin Series Champs!
(The SCYYRA Hamlin Series is special, as the helmsman and crew are each scored individually for their race results)
Joshua Wenokur of JK Sailing/South Coast Corinthian Yacht Club has won the 2024-2025 Carrie Series, clinching the title with his victory at the final regatta in the series - the SCYYRA Carrie 6/6 & Ken Hoover Memorial hosted April 26-27 by King Harbor YC.

Congratulations to Carly Kieding (SBYC/SBYSF) & Julia Getter (NHYC), our 2024-2025 SCYYRA Perry Series Champs! The final event of the series was hosted by San Diego YC, with 40 boats competing. Thank you so much to all of our SCYYRA Perry Series competitors who have participated in the 2024-2025 series, and we look forward to having many of you return for the 2025-2026 SCYYRA Perry Series, which will kick off in September.
Fenton Wallace of San Diego YC has won the 2024-2025 SCYYRA North Series (for the third year in a row). He clinched his win at Newport Harbor YC's Spring Gold Cup / SCYYRA North 4/4 held March 8-9, 2025.
