2023 SCYYRA Advanced Racing Clinic Applications Open

Application Form

Apply by November 17 to be considered to attend the December 2-3, 2023 SCYYRA Winter Advanced Training Clinic at the US Sailing Center - Long Beach. Members of the 2022 and 2023 SCYYRA Sailing Teams and other experienced participants in the SCYYRA Shadden, Ullman, Frost, Hamlin and Perry Series’ as well as other SoCal High School sailors that have been involved in serious C420, CFJ, 29er, ILCA 7 or ILCA 6 programs. This is an advanced clinic and we will be accepting applications based on age (must be at least in the 8th grade), experience and skill level. Please complete the application online by November 17, 2023. We will publish the list of accepted sailors on the SCYYRA Website by or before Monday evening November 20, 2023.

Attention SCYYRA Advanced Racing sailors! It's time to start thinking about your SCYYRA team application. Please take some time now to review the selection matrix, talk to your coaches, and collect your results from the past year. Applications will be due October 15, 2023. No late entries will be accepted.

Area J (Southern California) Qualifier for the US Sailing Junior Triplehanded Championship (Sears Trophy)

San Diego Yacht Club will host the Area J (Southern California) qualifier for the US Sailing Junior Triplehanded Championship (Sear Trophy) on Monday, July 10th. The top two teams from the qualifier will represent Area J at the Sear Trophy at Lakewood YC, TX. 

The qualifier will be raced in J/22s with spinnakers. All three sailors must be in good standing with US Sailing, over 13 years old, and may not have reached their 19th birthday during the calendar year of competition (2023).
