That’s a Wrap on the Carrie Series!

After six regattas, the 2025-2026 SCYYRA Carrie Series came to an end at King Harbor Yacht Club's Ken Hoover Memorial & Carrie #6 on April 18-19, 2026. Mason Lim from JK Sailing and South Coast Corinthian Yacht Club clinched the top spot with 47 net points over 41 races. Congratulations to Mason and the following sailors who secured wins in the series:

2nd Place: Hayden Zierger - CalYC
3rd Place: Tristan Gerber - JK Sailing/SCCYC
4th Place: Eloise Chadwich - JK Sailing/SCCYC
5th Place: Morgan Clarke - CalYC

Thank you to all of the competitors, volunteers, parents, and host clubs who made the 2025-2026 SCYYRA Carrie Series a success. We look forward to seeing the Opti Fleet in October to kick off the next season!

2025-2026 Shadden Series Winners Crowned

The final regatta of this season's SCYYRA Shadden Series held on Feb. 28 - Mar. 1, 2026 at ABYC got off to a very slow start. The scant whisper of wind left CFJ sailors unable to race on day one, before rallying to a solid three races to close out day two. Congratulations to Oceanside Yacht Club's Alexandra Fisher and Tiago Chapman, who not only conquered the series, but swept all four Shadden regattas! With 15 Net Points over 18 races, Alex and Tiago dominated the series year!

Announcing the 2026 SCYYRA Racing Team

The Southern California Youth Yacht Racing Association Board of Directors is proud to officially announce the selection of the 2026 SCYYRA Racing Team. This team recognizes the dedication and accomplishments of Southern California's most advanced junior sailors, honoring their performance in local, regional, national, and international regattas. These athletes represent the next generation of college champions, world-class racers, and Olympic hopefuls. This program is a cornerstone of SCYYRA's commitment to improving sailing skills and fostering high-level competition among youth racers. The 2026 SCYYRA Racing Team members are required to attend the Advanced Winter Training Clinic in December as an opportunity to strengthen personal skills and mentor the next generation of sailors. Congratulations to the 2026 SCYYRA Racing Team!
