2. ELIGIBILITY, ENTRY,
ENTRY FEE & AWARDS
2.1 Each participant shall be under 21 years of age during the series
and must be a member of an SCYA or SCYYRA club.
2.2 To enter the series, a participant must fill out the Ullman-Frost Series entry form. A participant may enter the series at the first or second scheduled regatta, but no later than the start of the first race.
2.3 There will be a $40 entry fee payable to SCYYRA. The entry fee includes
a T-shirt for each skipper.
2.4
Trophies will be awarded to the top places in the Ullman Series, Frost
Series and top girls in Frost Series.
3. CLASS MEMBERSHIP
Skippers must be a member in good standing of the Laser Class.
Membership can be obtained on the Laser Class website at
www.ilcana.org
Click
on “Join the Class”. Junior class membership (under 18 years old) is
$35. Send or present a copy of your Laser Class membership card or
other proof of Class membership with your entry form such as a copy of
the on-line USA Laser Class Membership payment receipt, or the e-mail
Laser Class membership confirmation.
4. RULES
4.1
Each regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing for 2009-2012, the
prescriptions of US SAILING, the Ullman-Frost Series Standing Rules as
published in the 2009 SCYYRA Year Book; the Laser Class Rules; this
Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions issued by each club.
5. SCORING
5.1 Ullman-Frost Series scoring shall be based on the official results of each race tabulated only against other Ullman-Frost Series entrants.
5.2 Ullman-Frost Series scoring shall be in accordance with US Sailing Appendix A9.
5.3 For the Ullman-Frost Series a DNC is defined as not registering for an Ullman-Frost Regatta and shall be scored the number of entries in the Ullman-Frost Series plus one.
5.4 Ties will be broken using US SAILING Appendix A. If a tie still exists, the winner shall be the yacht ahead in the final race that the two participating yachts both started.
5.2 Throwout races will be incorporated into the series scoring with
the following formulas:
If 14-15 races are completed, there will be 1 throwout
If 16-17 races are completed, there will be 2 throwouts
If 18-19 races are completed, there will be 3 throwouts
If 20 or more races are completed, there will be 4 throwouts.
5.3
Sail number changes must be reported to the Ullman-Frost Series
Chairman, Scott Deardorff and reported to the race committee before the
first race each day.
