1. Host Clubs and Dates

North #1 ABYC Fall Regatta September 30-October 1, 2006
North #2 MBYC Jr. Commodores Regatta November 4-5, 2006
North #3 SDYC Junior Invitational January 13-14, 2007
North #4 NHYC Spring Gold Cup March 17-18, 2007

Note: All of the above regattas are A Fleet through C3 Fleet events. The North Series is scored for A Fleet sailors only.

2. Eligibility, Entry, Entry Fee

2.1. All participating juniors must be an SCYYRA or SCYA yacht club member.

2.2. A participant must be eligible to enter each regatta under INSA junior rules.

2.3. Entries for the 2006-2007 North Series must be filed with the North Series Chairman along with the entry fee for the series. An entry must also be completed for each individual regatta in accordance with the Notice of Race for each event.

2.3.1. A participant may enter the series at the first or second scheduled regatta but no later than the close of registration at the second regatta.

2.4. North Series entry fee is $25 made payable to SCYYRA. The entry fee includes a T-shirt for each skipper

3. Class Membership

3.1. North Series participants must be INSA members in good standing.

4. Rules

4.1. Each regatta will be governed by the
RRS 2005-2008, the prescriptions of US Sailing, North Series Rules as published in the 2006 SCYYRA Handbook, INSA Class rules, this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions issued by each host club.

5. Scoring

5.1.
Low point scoring system, Appendix A9 will apply. Rule 44.3c is modified to say “the number shall be the whole number nearest to 20% of the number of boats entered in the individual North Series Regatta.”

5.2.
Series scoring will be based on the official results of each regatta tabulated only against other North Series entrants.

5.3.
There may be 20 or more races scheduled and sailed in the North Series.

5.4.
Ties will be broken using RRS Appendix A. If a tie still exists, the winner shall be the yacht finishing ahead in the final race that the yachts in question both started.

5.5. Thowout races will be incorporated into the series scoring with the following formulas;

If 14-15 races are completed, there will be 1 throwout
If 16-17 races are completed, there will be 2 throwouts
If 18-19 races are completed there will be 3 throwouts
If 20 or more races are completed, there will be 4 throwouts.

5.6. Sail number changes must be reported and approved by the North Series Chairman (or representative) and reported to the race committee prior to the skippers meeting for that regatta to be scored for those races.
